Reviews:
I'm not even halfway through, and I already know that this story has phenomenal written all over it. There's just nothing NOT to like (well, except that we want to know what's happening next *right* away); the language is so powerful - Dru uses the right words at the right time to convey such emotion and tension. You can *feel* everything the characters feel; the opening scene alone makes chills run down your spine. This is one of those rare fics that leaves a lasting impression you - you'll stop reading it for a month, a year, but you'll remember it suddenly - look back on how great it was, and then *have* to find it again so you can read it for the fourth, the fifth, the hundredth time. ~ Christine, July 2003

There are so many different reasons why I completely love this story, but first I'd like to say that Dru is an extraordinary writer. I've had the pleasure of reading many of her stories online, some that are not even Eminem related and each and everyone of them is fabulous.

So about "Rain"... honestly, this is one of the best stories I have ever read. I became obsessed w/ it as soon as I read the first few chapters. It is one captivating tale. I remember checking every single morning to see if Dru had posted a new chapter! And I did that for all 40 of them!!

"Rain" is heart-warming at times, very "sexy" in others; hilarious in some parts, and so sad in other parts. It's full of vivid details. I love the way Dru writes, how w/ her wonderful usage of words in each of the dialogues, she can make you actually feel all the emotions Marshall, Kim and Lily are feeling. And as far as the relationship she shows between Kim and Marshall... OMG! you couldn't get much more intense than that, from their raging fights to their emotional make ups.

I liked how the story proves that even though both of them had hurt each other so horribly in the past, it absolutely made sense that they *had* to be together, that deep down they had nothing but pure love for one another.

To end this little review of mine... I'd like to basically recommend everybody out there to read this story. It doesn't get more brilliant than "Rain".  ~ Shorty, December 2003

Unconditional love. Something that most of us aren't lucky enough to receive. And even if you love someone unconditionally, that does not almost always mean that it will be reciprocated. But for those lucky few...count yourselves blessed. Marshall and Kim are back together trying to work things out. I'm not going to try and summarise this story in a few sentences because in all honestly where would I start? Dru has written a story with amazing plot twists and it renders me speechless.

What set's "Rain" apart from every other Eminem fanfiction is that it is told from three different points of view. Marshall's, Kim's and Lily Rayne's. What makes "Rain" unique is that you get three different insights into the events unfolding around you. Dru has the amazing ability to get you to connect with the characters and put yourself into their situations and feel what they're feeling. Not many people can do that, and not many people can do it well. Dru excels, let me tell you.

At any one time, you can be crying for one character, screaming at another, laughing with (or at as the case may be) with another and all the while getting emotionally involved.

What I love so much about this story is the way Dru portrays relationships. They're so hauntingly real and honest and she doesn't sugarcoat anything. Her character's have faults and I love that so much. It makes them more humanlike - as if you could suck them out of the computer screen, sit them next to you, have a conversation and actually believe what they're saying.

So, in summing this all up, what I am trying to say is that "Rain" is believable and readable. It's a story that you will sit down intending to read just a few chapters and then sit up all night finishing. It's just that good.

Well done, Dru! I can't wait to read more of your work. ~ Kate, May 2004 222 contest
