Julie's Story is an astonishing tale. It brings so much
excitement and real life events to the readers. Never have I
seen a character quite like Julie. She has *so* much
emotions and feelings about things. It brings the
imagination to the extreme. You are an amazing writer, Jenn.
You are blessed with a talent that *a lot* of people wish
for. With every chapter I read I become more in awe. I am
dying to see when he is actually going to tell her "I LOVE
YOU." Just do it already, Marsh! I love the way he teases
her all the time ;). The chemistry between Marshall and
Julie is excellent. They are different, but yet so similar.
This story is definitely mind-blowing. One story is surely
not enough for an amazing writer like you, lol! You should
be proud of yourself! Continue to do the wonderful job you
have been doing all along. Update A.S.A.P. ~ Rana, June 2003

Jenn, you know how much love I have for you, but this story
makes me so entirely envious of you at times. It's
poignantly written - like any memorable fiction, the
characters are created in such a way, developed with just
the right technique, that you feel as if they were real -
the concept that they *are* plausible makes everything
become realistic; it changes the entire atmosphere of the
story into something of a higher degree of greatness. Julie
is a character we can sympathize with, admire, respect. Her
interaction with Marshall/Eminem is always priceless; their
dialogue even better - hilarious at times, tear-jerking at
other times, but it's never bad. Every word you type for
that story makes it better; the story enthralls you into the
world of Julie Phoenix and Marshall Mathers - and whether or
not they'll fall in love, whether or not they'll *stay*
married. It's such a remarkable story, one that I plan on
saving to my hard disk so I'll never be without a copy. ~

Julie Phoenix works hard for a
living. She's had to; Ever since she was able to leave
the abusive foster home she was brought up in, to the
day she was awarded custody of two of her foster sisters
Rachel and Christine. Julie struggles to pay for things
for herself, the girls and save for them to go to
college. Who knew that when the Department of Social
Services rocked up on her doorstep and threatened to
take Rachel and Christine from her, she would end up
married to one of the most notorious rappers in the worl
today - Mr Marshall Mathers A.K.A. Eminem.
"Julie's Story" is a touching story
dealing intensely with family relationships. The
relationship between husband, Marshall, and wife, Julie.
The relationship between Julie, Rachel and Christine.
The new relationship with Marshall, Christine and Rachel
(and how he deals when boys start knocking on the door
for his new 'girls'). The relationship with Julie and
Hailie. And of course the slightly psychopathic ex-wife
Sara. Whatever relationship you wish to focus on, Jenn
has made an accurate and touching portrayal of each.
The characters in "Julie's Story"
are unforgettable. I love how strong Julie is and I love
how not one of the character's are made out to be
perfect. They all have their flaws and all have their
weak points as well as their good. Jenn is one of the
few writers able to write "real" characters. I found
myself laughing, crying (yes I did say crying) at the
screen as each of the characters went through their own
acceptance of each other. The best, best, best, best bit
of this story is just how they all learn to live and
love one another.
Oh, and the relationship between
Marshall and Julie will break your heart. Jenn, I love
how realistic this is, and I love how you've prortrayed
Marshall (and Julie) as less than perfect with their own
issues to deal with. This is what makes "Julie's Story"
so easy to read. Because it always has you guessing and
leaves you with a sense of longing. You will long for
these two to finally get it together.
I'm leaving this review here
because you guys need to stop reading this review, and
get on and read the actual story. Believe me, it's well
worth your time.
As always Jenn, you have so much
talent. I can't wait for an update. Kate, June 2004
