PART 1

Marshall sat cross eyed as he listened to Paul drone on and on and on...fan letters...blah blah blah...he was antsy...on edge...what he really needed to do was smack his head repeatedly into the closest fucking wall and be done with it...Kim was in jail...Hailie was hurt and confused...his life was one BIG fucked up mess...

“MARSHALL” Paul said raising his voice, snapping Marshall out of his fog “are you listening to me?”

“Huh?” Marshall muttered shaking his head to clear the images that were spiraling through his constantly abused mind “listening? Oh yeah, you were saying something about fan letters?”

“Look Marshall” Paul said sympathy creeping into his eyes “I know you got a lot of shit going on right now but the album’s about to drop and the fan letters are pouring in. I think we should have some kind of contest.”

“Contest?” Marshall questioned a bit weary as to where the hell Paul was going with this “what kind of contest?”

“Well” Paul drawled out “I was thinking that we could run a contest for the *best* fan letter and the winner gets a personal phone call from *YOU*. What do you think?”

“Aight...Whatever” Marshall shrugged. It was a crazy idea and he had *no idea* how Paul expected to pull it off with the *millions* of fan letters that recieved but he didn’t care. He was tired. He just wanted some sense of normalcy to return to his life...

~*~

Jenny listened to the DJ go over the contest details again on the radio and her heart sped up. He was picking his favorite fan letter. He was actually going to read them. Her mind raced as she mentally reread her letter. *Oh Lord* she thought wildly as her stomach flip flopped *what if he picks mine? Calls me?* she jumped up with barely restrained excitement. He was such an inspiration to her. She respected him so much. His music had helped her through so many rough spots in her life and now there was a *minute* possibility that she might actually have a chance to talk to him. She plopped back down on the bed and closed her eyes...imagining his voice on the other end of the line...

~*~

Marshall was neck deep in fan letters and if they didn’t stop coming in soon he figured he was going to fucking drown in them. He sighed as he tossed another one aside. What was it with some chicks? He actually got embarrassed reading some of these. He opened another one and his face turned crimson *Fuck, is that even possible?* he laughed as he read it again *interesting but not quite what I’m looking for* he snickered as he tossed it aside. He’d spent countless hours reading these letters. Luckily tomorrow was the cut off day he yawned opening yet another letter. Paul had decided all letters received with in a specified 5 day period would be included in the contest. He was just about to call it a day when he reached for another letter. He noticed that it was post marked from England as he ripped open the envelope. He got through the first sentence and smiled. This is more like it he thought to himself as he sat back to read her letter. He finished reading her letter and placed it in the *very* small pile of letters her was considering...

~*~

Jenny was having a piss poor miserable afternoon as she raced around the house getting ready for work. If something could go wrong today it sure as fuck would.

She looked over at Tine, her friend and room mate. “I’m fucking running late” she growled “I gotta go luv, I’ll be home tonight” she kissed Tine on the cheek.

Tine frowned after her friend. *Poor Jenny* she thought to herself. She wished her friend could catch a break. Tine made her way into the living room and flipped on the tube. She had just settled down to watch some telly when the phone rang.

“Hello” she said a bit distracted as she picked up the receiver.

“Jenny?” Marshall questioned as he sat at his desk at Shady Records. Her letter had been the best. He’d read a few others that were really sweet but he’d kept coming back to hers. Now he was a bit nervous as he sat cradling the phone. He’d never called a fan before. He wasn’t quite sure what he was supposed to say.

“No, she just left for work” Tine muttered “who’s this?”

“Oh Ummm she entered a contest” Marshall stumbled around “and well she won so...”

“EMINEM??” Tine yelled excited and then the reality sunk in “Oh Fuck she’s not here! She's going to be so devastated!!!”

“Me too” Marshall mumbled “tell her I’m sorry I missed her. I really loved her letter.”

“Can’t you ring her back?” Tine asked hopeful.

“Nah, I’m sorry” Marshall said “the rules say that if the winner isn’t available I have to move on to the runner up” he sighed. He was disappointed. He had no idea what he wanted to say to her but for some unexplainable reason he’d really wanted to talk to her. “Look” he said honestly “please tell her that I loved her letter. It really touched me.”

“Sure” Tine said before he disconnected. She was saddened for her friend. Jenny had been so excited about the possibility that she *might* win and he *might* actually call her....when Jenny finds out that it actually happened and she missed his call...it's going to kill her. Maybe I just won't tell her Tine thought biting her nails...Tine got up and paced the room as she tried desperately to decide what to do.....

PART 2

Marshall laid his head gingerly on his desk. He had a fucking migraine. He’d just spent the last hour talking to one of his *supposed*fans* and was ready to scream. She had been the most obnoxious individual he had ever had the displeasure of encountering. Her letter had been a joke. A ploy to get him to call and like an ass he’d fallen for it. He lifted his head and winced as he grabbed her letter, Jenny, the name made him smile. This letter could be phony too he thought to himself but for some reason he couldn’t quite explain he didn’t think so. He propped his feet up on his desk and sat back to read her letter again....

Hey Marshall,

Howz it going man? I just gotta say that I don't want this to sound like one of your typical fan letters, you know all that 'I love you', 'I wanna shag you', 'I understand you' bullshit because it's not! I just wanted to write to you because your music has helped me a lot and I wanted to say thank you!

I've been through a lot of shit in my life with my family, mainly my dad. As he don't want to know me or my 3 year old brother at all, and in a way that has made me a stronger person. But your music has helped me so much, especially the song Rock Bottom. I used to listen to that every day. You have made me see that there is more to life, I can't just sit around and be sad about it. I have wasted too many tears on him and he has let me down too many times.

I came to see you on tour in the UK last year. You were amazing! I was right at the front on the 21st June, its the best concert I've ever been too. How is Hailie-Jade, it was her birthday on xmas day wasn't it? Hope she had a good day, she is such a sweet little girl, you are so lucky to have her and she is lucky to have a daddy like you! It is so obvious to everyone that you adore her and that she will always be your babygirl!

Anyway, I know that most fan letters don't get opened by the person they are intended to go to so I've probably just poured my heart out to someone other than you but....oh well!

Thank you so much Eminem, you have really helped me get through my rough patches.

Lots of love
Jenny
xxxx

He folded the letter again and slipped it into his pocket. He had been fucked over so many times in his life but he’d bet money that she wasn’t fake. He wanted to know for sure. He needed to know. Something about this girl kept calling him out and he wanted to know what it was? Who is the girl behind this letter? He was halfway through dialing her number when he slammed the phone down. He wasn’t going to call her...no, he was going to meet her face to face...

~*~

Tine had sweated it the whole day. Pacing back and forth wearing holes in the carpet, wringing her hands until they hurt, cursing a blue streak but in the end the answer was simple really. She HAD to tell her. Jenny wasn’t just her room mate, she was her friend and she couldn’t keep something like this from her. It would crush her but she deserved to know that her letter had reached him and that it had touched him.

Jenny came dragging through the door. She was tired beyond belief. The day had been a real bitch and she wanted nothing more than to take a nice hot bath and curl up in bed but Tine looked a bit edgy so instead of heading for that heavenly shower she’d been dreaming about she trudged over and plopped down next to Tine.

“What’s on your mind girly” Jenny asked snaking an arm around Tine’s shoulders and pulling her closer “you look like you lost your best friend.”

“He called” Tine blurted out. So much for subtlety she mentally berated herself.

“Who called?” Jenny asked looking at her inquisitively.

“EMINEM” Tine sighed “he called after you left for work. I’m so sorry Jenny.”

Jenny had tensed at the mention of his name and her muscles felt strained to the point of breaking as she leaned back to look at Tine “He called here? For me?” she asked her eyes misting over with tears.

“Yeah” Tine whispered pulling Jenny in for a hug.

“He read my letter?” Jenny said as tears strained her voice “he liked it?”

“It touched him” Tine whispered against her hair “he said it touched him.”

“I missed it” Jenny whispered “I missed the most important call of my life.”

Tine held Jenny as she cried. Life had been unkind to Jenny and as silly and childish as it sounded that one simple call from a man she respected meant everything to her...

~*~

The flight was long and Marshall was tired as hell when he touched down in Calne, Wilshire, England. He hustled through the airport on autopilot and caught the first cab he could find to take him to the nearest hotel. He wanted to meet the lovely Jenny but what he really needed tonight was sleep. He made his way to his room, slipped the hotel key in the door, stepped in, dropped his bags and fell face down on the bed. In the morning he thought sleepily as he drifted off. In the morning he would meet *his* Jenny...

PART 3

Marshall woke up refreshed and ready to face the day. He showered, dressed, got a quick bite to eat and headed out. He pulled out her letter and merrily went on his way. After getting horribly lost he managed to find his destination with the help of a sweet little old lady who was completely oblivious to exactly who it was that she was helping. Butterflies fluttered in his stomach as he stood outside her door and poised his finger over the doorbell button...

~*~

Tine was putting the finishing touches on her make up when she heard the annoying shrill of the doorbell.

“Tine sweetie” Jenny yelled from upstairs “can you get that?”

“Sure” Tine muttered tossing down her lip gloss as she trudged over to the door. She was feeling a bit cross this morning. Jenny had been moping around all week over the missed *call* and Tine had been so worried about her that it was affecting her sleep. She wrenched open the door ready to give the pesky intruder hell and she froze “Holy Hell” she whispered as she came face to face with EMINEM.

“Jenny?” Marshall asked hopeful

“N-n-no” Tine managed to get out. She squared her shoulders and said with more confidence “and I won’t ask who this is this time.”

He laughed “and I hope she isn’t at work this time” he said smiling and Tine almost melted.

“No Sir” Tine smiled back “today happens to be your lucky day.”

“Good” he said nodding “because today I intended to track her down.”

“You’re so cute” Tine gushed “and I can’t believe that you are actually standing in our living room. Do you have any idea how much this will mean to Jenny?”

“Tine” Jenny called from upstairs and Marshall’s ears perked up at the sound. It was like music. Soft, sweet, gentle music. It washed over him. Moved through him. “Who was at the door sweetie” she asked as she came down the stairs and stopped in her tracks.

They stood facing each other. Neither speaking as their eyes connected and held.

He couldn’t break eye contact if his life depended on it. She was fucking *beautiful* he thought to himself as he took in her gorgeous brown locks and her exquisite green eyes that reminded him of soft foamy seas. Her skin was the color of sweet cream. Delicate and sweet. She was fantastic. Absolutely fantastic.

Her heart was about to beat right out of her chest as she took him in. All of him. She had seen his picture a million times but nothing compared to the *real*flesh*and*blood*man that stood in front of her. Those icy blue eyes that always captivated her in pictures were so much more intense gazing into her emerald green ones. She took a deep breath and fought to control the tripping of her heart.

“Well” Tine said looking back and forth between the two of them “isn’t this sweet. Ummm Marshall...can I call you Marshall? Anyhow, ummm Marshall this is Jenny. Jenny this is Marshall.” When neither of them broke eye contact Tine shrugged and headed back to the downstairs bathroom to finish applying her make up.

They stood in awkward silence for a few more minutes before he finally spoke “I got this” he said as he held up a worn sheet of paper “your letter and I...” he trailed off.

“You what?” she finally spoke.

“I had to meet you” he said letting out a deep breath.

“Why?” she asked fighting the tears that threatened to spill.

“I don’t know” he whispered honestly “you’re letter is quite simple but something about it keeps calling me out. Drawing me here.”

“Fate?” she whispered.

“I don’t know about that?” he answered honestly “I don’t really believe in fate.”

She finally moved from the foot of the stairs. She walked toward him and extended her hand. He grasped it in his own and the sparks that shot through their hands had them both yanking back and staring at each other wide eyed.

“Ummm” Marshall muttered feeling a bit uncomfortable “you wanna go somewhere?”

“Tine and I were just about to grab a bite” she smiled at him feeling a little raw at the volt of electricity that had coursed through her. “You wanna come along.”

“Sure” he smiled “sounds great.”

~*~

They had a blast. The three of them eating and talking. Laughing. Getting to know each other. Marshall felt such calmness wash over him as he sat there with her and her friend sharing a meal and good times. He’d done what he came to do. He’d met her but now he didn’t want to leave. He wanted to know more. He want to know everything and it was dangerous. He needed to say goodbye and go home...

“How long will you be here?” Tine asked him.

He shook his head to clear the thoughts that had taken root “Til tomorrow” he said smiling at her.

“How about you let a couple ladies take you out tonight and show you a good time” Tine asked smiling.

“What do ya say?” Jenny asked her eyes alight with hope.

He should say NO. He’d met her and that was all he’d intended to do but he heard himself saying “Sure, sounds like fun.”....

PART 4

Marshall was having a fucking blast. They’d hit Buzz2000, Fizz Bar, Porter Blacks and they were currently on their way out of Rose and Crown. They’d gone to Chippenham to hit the good clubs because Calne was seriously lacking in that department. The night had flown by and Marshall was sorry to see it end. He’d had a good time with these two ladies. An honest to goodness really fucking spectacular time but the night out with these two ladies had done nothing to squelch the growing attraction and increasing desire that he was feeling for Jenny. He wanted to know her, really know her but time wouldn’t allow that. He had to go back. He had duties, responsibilities. To his daughter, to his career, to Kim, his ex wife. He couldn’t just leave her hanging in the wind. He felt responsible for her and he’d see her through this latest debacle for his daughters sake. He looked over at Jenny and felt a pang. A pang of longing for what could be but never would. At least not now.

“What’s on your mind there, Mr. Mathers?” Tine asked looking over at him.

“Huh?” Marshall asked looking over at her blankly.

“It appears you have a heavy burden weighing on your mind” Tine smiled at him.

“The many trials of a rap star, ya know” Marshall said with a wink.

Tine laughed as they all piled into the car. Jenny had been quiet for the last few minutes. Her mind was where Marshall’s had been mere moments ago. If only things could be different, *we* could be different she quietly sighed...if only...

“All right you two” Tine said getting out of the car in front of their apartment “I’m gonna go inside. You two behave. Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do” she walked away with a snicker plastered across her face.

They got out and stood facing each other “So you gotta go home?” she asked quietly.

“Yeah” he said trying to read the emotions swimming in her eyes “I had a good time with you today, tonight, just with you.”

“Me too” she said looking down. Before today she had respected him, respected his music but now it was different. She had met the man behind the music and she wanted more.

“Jenny” he said grabbing her chin and forcing her eyes to meet his eyes.

“Don’t” she said with a shaky smile “I know it’s not meant to be. You have a life, a family and I’m just some silly fan with dreams of grandeur.”

“You’re more than some silly fan” Marshall said connecting with her eyes “I wish you weren’t but you are. I felt something. I didn’t want to but I did.”

She reached up and placed her hand on his face. Touching the soft texture of his skin sent shivers down her spine. “I have dreams, you know” she whispered “big, silly dreams and...” she trailed off dropping her hand.

“Tell me?” Marshall whispered “tell me your dreams.”

“I-I just want something more” she whispered “there’s got to be something more than this” she gestured around her “I’ve always admired you. You’re strength, your passion, your love for the music that you believe in. I want that.”

“You want what Jenny?” he asked gently.

“I want to do what you do.” she said honestly “I write raps you know?” she blushed “it probably sounds silly but I want to share my music with the world the way that you do.”

“Then do it” he said peering into her beautiful eyes “do it”

“It’s not that easy” she said laughing “I wish it were but it’s not.”

He pulled her in his arms. He wished he could give her what she wanted but they were worlds away and he had too many responsibilities. She sighed wrapped in his strong arms. It felt good. Too good. She relished in the feeling for a minute before backing away. She was too grounded in reality to give herself over to false hopes.

“I have to go home Jenny” he whispered “I have to....”

“I know” she smiled. She reached her hand up to caress his face again.

“Don’t give up your dreams” he whispered “never give up your dreams.”

“I won’t” she said wistfully.

“I could fall in love with you if I let myself” he said honestly.

Her heart beat erratically as his intense gaze penetrated places in her soul that no man before him had been able to touch. “Kiss me?” she whispered questioning, seeking “just once, please?”

He bent down to capture her lips and his world exploded. His tongue invaded her mouth gently and his soul set fire. Their tongues dueled passionately. Each fighting for something that neither could achieve. His hands wandered over her soft flesh and shock waves spiraled through her. She ran her hands over his strong arms and his nerves tingled. It was all so much. The heat. The flash. The fire. He broke the kiss and fought for breath as his world tried desperately to click back on it’s axis but she knocked it off. With one kiss she’d sent his world spiraling out of control.

“I want you” he whispered “it’s not fair but I want you now, tonight, just once I want to lose myself in you...just once.”

His words sent desire shooting through her body. She wanted him but could she afford the damage it would do to her soul “Marshall....” she trailed off.

He leaned his forehead against hers “Come back to my hotel” he whispered “will you stay with me tonight? Let me make love to you? Just once?”

She should say no. It would make sense to say no but all sense had been lost the moment his lips touched hers “Yes” she whispered “Take what you want. I’m right here..."

PART 5

Marshall and Jenny stood mere inches apart. Yet worlds away. Their eyes locked. Both unsure what to say. Their breathing was ragged. Their heartbeats were wild. An electrical current whizzed radically through the air. They took a step closer and paused. Neither wanted to break this magical spell. They stood their ground for a few seconds more. Then they threw caution to the wind without another thought...

~Two different lives...worlds apart
~Two star crossed lovers, Two lonely hearts
~Two tortured souls ready to unite
~Two passions sparked in the heat of night
~Two sets of breath rush out to mingle
~Two bodies longing to feel the tingle

Their lips connected and their minds went numb. Their hands explored each others flesh. They longed to be one. To join their bodies in an exotic dance. His lips left hers and she fought for her sanity. He trailed his tongue over her satiny skin. Tasting her essence was the sweetest of sins. A sin that would kill him but he couldn’t stop. He needed to feel her under him writhing in ecstasy. Her longed to feel her body rub against his as their sweat beaded and mingled together...

~I wanna hold you girl, I truly do
~I wanna lose myself in the beauty, the wonder of you
~I wanna steep myself in your warmth, bathe in your softness
~ Let my actions portray what my words can’t express
~This need that I’m feeling goes beyond physical
~But I have to stand strong, I can’t let myself fall
~Love is a gamble baby and I can’t afford to lose
~My hearts been beaten too many times, it’s battered and bruised
~It’s twisted because I know you won’t hurt me, I see it in your eyes, hear it in your voice
~But I can’t give you what I know you deserve, Can’t you see I don’t have a choice
~My mind won’t let me feel what my heart longs to receive
~This life of mine has left me too jaded to believe

He lifted her shirt slowly over her head and his breath caught suspended at her beauty, her splendor. He unclasped her bra and it fell forgotten to floor as he dipped his head and let his tongue explore the swell of her breasts, traveling over her puckered nipples. She moaned at the sensation of his soft fleshy tongue. He moved his hands down and worked the button of her jeans pushing his hand inside slipping under the soft silk of her panties. Carnal desire shot through her as his skillful fingers invaded her most feminine parts. She panted pushing him back. She reached for his pants pushing them down.

“I want you” she whispered “please...”

He removed his fingers and yanked her pants and panties down in one fluid motion, lifting her up in his strong arms, carrying her over to the bed and gently laying her down.

“I want you too” he panted “so fucking much”

~Your petal soft lips have completely seize my mind
~Your flesh melds with mine and I long to freeze time
~Our minds link together, our bodies join
~Nothing can extinguish this yearning deep in my loins
~My skin is on fire, I’m about to combust
~I can’t control this ache, I’m blinded by lust
~My mind can’t focus, this need is too much

He kicked off his pants and slowly crawled up her body. She reached up pulling his shirt off.

“I wanna feel your skin on mine” she whispered. Lust in every syllable.

He bent down imprisoning her lips. “You feel good against me” he whispered “so soft, so warm.”

“Make love to me” she whispered “I want you to fill me.”

He entered her body in one deep thrust sending shocks of pleasure shooting through her body. She clutched him tight against her body scouring his skin with the intensity of her grip. He moved in and out of her in an intense rhythm. His body thrummed with pleasure. She was sensational. She was beautiful. The pressure was building. He ached for release. He reached between their bodies to the juncture of her legs and gently rubbed his soft fingers over her swollen clit. She moaned arching up against him forcing his fingers more roughly against her clit. The friction of their bodies and the feeling of his fingers were too much to handle and she exploded her body tightening around him, milking him.

“Fuck baby” he yelled as her orgasm caused him to jerk and spasm inside of her “fuck that feels good. You feel good.”

She moaned jerking her hips helping him ride out his orgasm. He rolled off her and pulled her into his arms. No soft, sweet words were spoken. No pledge of love. No promises made. They just laid in each others arms drifting off to sleep..

~I long to let myself love you, I desperately do
~Diminish the pain, erase all the shit I’ve been through
~But my life is a mess, fucked up and complicated
~These emotions for you have left me unsated
~But I can’t drag you into my fucked up life
~I’m not the man for you, I’m not meant to have a wife
~I should never have touched you, it wasn’t fair
~I never wanted to hurt you, baby, I swear
~But I found so much bliss and joy in your arms
~You have me enchanted, enthralled by your charms
~My life has been full of so many mistakes
~But I have to walk away and try to ignore this ache
~Before I go baby, I just have to say, you’ve completely touched me, down to the core
~You gave me your body but it meant so much more
~ I felt pure magic, I was mystified
~I found all my heart craves trapped in your eyes

He stared down at her peacefully sleeping. He had to go. It hurt but he had to go. He couldn’t give her what she deserved “I’m sorry” he whispered bending down to place a soft kiss on her parted lips. She slightly stirred and it made his heart ache. He placed the note on the pillow next to hers and quietly slipped away as the sun began to rise.

She woke with a start, sitting straight up in bed. She glanced to her side, he was gone. It hurt but she had expected it. She pulled the sheet up clutching it to her breast. The first of many tears to come slowly slid down her cheek. She was about to get out of bed when she noticed the note laying on the pillow. She opened it with trembling fingers. Her tears falling to stain the paper she held....

Jenny,
Never let go of your dreams....
Love,
M

PART 6

~ ONE YEAR LATER ~

Touring was a *bitch*. Marshall was tired. He wanted to wrap this shit up and go the fuck home. He was in London and memories swamped him. Memories of *her*. He was so close to her. So fucking close. He’d thought about her. Too much. So much time had passed and he’d almost been a selfish bastard and gone after her a million times but he stopped himself. He couldn’t drag her into the chaos that was his life. She was too sweet, too innocent. His fucked up life would tear her apart. She deserved better than that. He took a deep breath, swallowed against the lump in his throat, took a swig of water and headed for the stage. Showtime....

~*~

Jenny stood solid as a stone as she watched him perform. He was spectacular. He had a gift, it was in his blood. The music. The crowds. He was meant for this fame and notoriety he’d achieved. When he’d first came on stage she’d felt the pang course through her. He was so close, yet so far. If she reached her hand out she could touch him but he was a million miles away. He had traveled towards the crowd where she stood, just another face in the crowd and she’d turned her head. She didn’t want him to see her. The pain was deep. The pain was raw. Too raw. After all this time it hadn’t faded. She’d tried with all her might to exorcise the memory of him, to erase it but she couldn’t. She’d come here tonight because she’d had to. No amount of reasoning could stop her. It was stupid and foolish but she had to see him again. She had to. She hadn’t given up her dreams either. She’d reread his letter so many times the paper had worn but it meant so much to her. She’d fought against adversity and she continued to fight because he believed in her. He said to never give up her dreams and she wouldn’t...

~*~

Marshall sat on the couch in his dressing room his head leaning against the back. That was it. Last show. Tour was over, time to go home. It was bittersweet that it ended here. The very place he’d lost his heart one short year ago. He’d tried to deny it but in the span of a day she’d stolen his heart. He felt hollowed out, empty as he looked around. His dressing room was packed with scantily clad women. All his boys were here...50, Obie, D12 but he wasn’t interested in the action going on around him. He just wanted to go home. He missed Hailie, his life, his home, *her... An overeager *fan* walked over and stood in front of him.

“Hi” she whispered lust infusing her voice “mind if I sit down?”

He looked up at her. She was beautiful not classically so but beautiful none the less. He should be interested. He should feel some sorta pang. Some sorta excitement but he didn’t. He felt nothing. “Yeah, I do mind” he said getting up. He walked out of his dressing room and headed for the SUV’s parked at the back of the arena “take me back to the hotel” he said as he got in. As they drove towards the hotel he couldn’t help wondering what she was doing right now? Did she even know he was here? He sighed leaning his head back against the seat and closing his eyes. He needed to get the hell out of here and forget her. He desperately needed to forget her...

~*~

“You ok hon?” Tine asked Jenny as they walked toward their car.

“Yeah” she said in a shaky voice “I’m ok sweetie”

“I know it was hard” Tine said placing a comforting hand on Jenny’s back.

“It was” she weakly laughed “but I had to, I had to see him.”

“I know honey” Tine smiled “I know.”

Jenny turned back to look at the arena one last time. He was in there. Somewhere in that arena stood the man who held her heart. Her *real* dreams. She sighed “Let’s go home Tine. I wanna go home.”

Tine squeezed her shoulder gently and put her arm around Jenny’s shoulder as they walked the rest of the way to the car.

~*~

~ SIX MONTHS LATER ~

“Oh Good Lord Jenny” Tine gushed “look, oh fuck, just...holy, WOW”

“I know” Jenny muttered staring around in amazement as the limo they were riding in drove through the heart of Los Angeles “I can’t believe I’m here” she looked up at Tine and whispered “I’m scared”

“Why?” Tine asked looking over at Jenny “don’t be scared hon. Since the day he left you, you’ve worked your fingers to the bone for this. You’ve held on to that note he left you like it was your lifeline. You deserve this Jenny. All of it.”

“I know but God I’m frightened” she said as her eyes misted over “they are going to start playing it on the radio and what if people hate it?”

“Don’t be silly” Tine smiled “Everybody will love it. It’s such a beautiful song Jenny. People will feel it. I did.”

“He’ll know” she whispered “he’ll hear it and he’ll know it’s for him.”

“Maybe it’s what he needs” Tine said seriously “he needs to understand how you feel Jenny.”

“I know but I’m afraid he’ll resent me for it” Jenny said in a shaky voice.

“I don’t think he will” Tine said gently.

Jenny let out the breath she’d been holding. She wasn’t as sure as Tine was about Marshall’s feelings. She’d finally made it. She had her foot in the door. Her *dreams* were starting to come true. Her first single was dropping and today they would test it on the radio. It was about Marshall from start to finish and she was terribly afraid he would resent her for writing such a personal song about him. She never mentioned his name but he’d know...

GOD he had a headache. This day had gone to shit pretty fast and he was fed up. He was to his boiling point and he needed to lock himself in a padded room for the safety of others. He was halfway home from 54 when he flipped on the radio. He caught the tail end of the DJ’s announcement.

....new artist signed to RCA, her voice is hauntingly beautiful and this song is just...I don’t know how to put it into words...listen for yourselves...

Marshall turned up the volume. He loved to hear fresh, new artists. The haunting strains of the intro filtered out through the speakers and reverberated through the car. The first soft words were passionately sung and his heart sped up. Her voice washed over him. It was so beautiful, so pure. He had to pull over, his mind had gone numb. She’d done it. She’d actually done it. He smiled and the words hit him like a blow to the stomach. The words, fuck the words. He couldn’t speak...

~I look toward tomorrow
And there’s nothing but sorrow
My mind can’t comprehend
Why my heart just won’t mend
Like a bright flash of light
You crashed through my life
Then dropped out of sight
Oh, God, it cut like a knife
The pain was so brutal
To try and fight it was futile
Forbidden fruit’s what you were
You made my soul stir
And in my haste
I couldn’t resist your taste~

CHORUS
~False hopes entrap me, they mess with my mind
I can’t seem to grasp hold of what I’m longing to find
I’ll continue you my plight, I’ll broaden my search
Leave no stone unturned, I’ll roam this whole earth
I’ll ravage the moon, the sun, the heavenly skies
For the magic I found trapped inside your beautiful eyes~

~Your face tortures and taunts me
It forever haunts me
You said *live your dreams*
Well I’m doing that, you see
But my dreams are all marred
Scattered and scarred
Without you beside me
To hold me, To guide me
This *dream* is so lonely
I’d do anything, if only
I could have you in my life
I’d give it all back without strife
Forsake myself and all I hold dear
I have no fears, my mind is perfectly clear
Please, just say the words I’m longing to hear~

CHORUS
~False hopes entrap me, they mess with my mind
I can’t seem to grasp hold of what I’m longing to find
I’ll continue you my plight, I’ll broaden my search
Leave no stone unturned, I’ll roam the entire earth
I’ll ravage the moon, the sun, the heavenly skies
For the magic I found trapped inside your beautiful eyes~

~I’m lost and I’m tired
I can’t count the tears that I’ve cried
I know I should quit
Lay back and take this hit
I’ve held on so tight
Resigned myself to this fight
But it’s time to move on
Face the fact that you’re gone
Try and accept that you were never truly mine
Erase those tragic moments in time
But I can’t do it, I’ve tried
And though I know, you never lied
You were brutally honest, right from the start
It still didn’t stop me from losing my heart
So I’ll sit here and pray
Lay back and wait for the day
When my mind finally sees
That we weren’t meant to be~

The song ended and he sat there grasping for something, anything to ease the pain in his heart. What had he done? He let out a ragged breath and placed his head on the steering wheel. He had hurt her. God, he had hurt her and she was so painfully beautiful. He hated himself. At that moment he hated everything about himself...

Part 7

*Crazy* that was the only word that Jenny could use to describe her life. She was shuttled from here to there and back again. It was exhausting. Thank God for Tine she smiled looking over at her *best* friend. If it weren’t for her Jenny was fairly sure that she would most likely never eat and sleep...forget about it...No Time!! She wasn’t complaining, on the contrary, she loved it. She was living out her dreams and she wasn’t about to give it all back for a good meal and a full nights sleep..no fucking way.

“You nervous?” Tine asked looked over at Jenny.

“Huh?” Jenny asked shaking her head to clear her muddled mind.

“You nervous sweetie?” Tine asked again smiling.

“About performing?” Jenny asked “Nah, not really.”

“About being here?” Tine prompted.

“A little” Jenny sighed.

“It’ll be alright” Tine smiled “you know I feel...you two need to talk.”

Jenny took in a deep breath and blew it out “I’m not sure I could handle that” she said honestly.

“Jenny you’re stronger than you think” Tine said placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. She gave Jenny a small kiss before wandering off.

Jenny gave a shaky smile. She was opening for Christina Aguilera. It had been a last minute thing. Christina’s *regular* opening act fell ill and they had called upon her to fill in. She was *excited* but she was also nervous as hell. Of all the cities in the United States for them to call her to, they had to pick this one....Detroit. She shook of the bout of nerves. He hated Christina Aguilera...this was the *last* place in the world he would be tonight...

~*~

He couldn’t believe he had let her talk him into it. It was a good thing that he loved her to distraction because if he didn’t he wouldn’t be caught dead at a fucking Christina Aguilera concert. He couldn’t stand the bitch. Yeah, sure they had made nice but he still couldn’t stomach the egotistical bitch.

“Daddy” Hailie yelled pulling on his arm “come on.”

“Slow down Hai” he said exasperated “you know we have to go in the special entrance.”

“I know but hurry” she said shuffling her feet.

He smiled. She was too damn cute. He hated that he couldn’t take her to a concert like a regular kid. They had to go in a special entrance. Sit in an isolated area but she didn’t seem to mind. She was the sweetest damn thing in the world and he was *blessed* to have her.

“I’m coming baby” he smiled practically running to catch up with her.

They made their way into the special entrance and up to the isolated area set aside for them. She was antsy. She couldn’t wait until the show started. As he sat back and watched the glee splash across her innocent face he knew the risk of humiliation was well worth it...

~*~

The butterflies were alive in Jenny’s stomach as she stood off stage left. It was almost show time. She had never actually performed live and she was a bit scared. She had been fine up until they’d told her 5 minutes til show time and then the nerves had kicked in. She could do this she told herself continually...no sweat. ‘You’ve been prepping for this moment your whole life’ she mentally talked to herself ‘Don’t freeze up now’. The house lights flickered and she took a deep breath as the beginning strains of her song began to waft through the sold out stadium...

~*~

The lights flickered signaling that the show was about to begin and he sat back in his chair. The music began to drift through the stadium and he froze. ‘It couldn’t be’ he thought wildly but he’d recognize that song anywhere. He’d heard it enough times that he knew it by heart. He came to his feet, grabbing the binoculars, he peered out over the sell out crowd and landed on the breathtaking woman that stood center stage...*Jenny*...his heart sped up. It had been so long since he’d seen her. He’d heard her song a million times but he hadn’t seen her since that morning he left her peacefully sleeping. She took his breath away. He itched to reach out and touch her. She had gotten more beautiful over time, if that was possible. Her powerful voice reverberated through the air and chills ran down his spine causing his flesh to pucker. The song went straight to his heart as it always did causing the dull ache to come alive again. He had spent many a night since he heard that heartbreaking song hating himself for hurting her and to see her standing there singing it live and in person caused the ache to explode in his chest. He needed air. He was beginning to feel closed in. The need to possess her was extremely strong. Never in his life had he ached like this for a woman. He had to touch her again. Feel her lily soft skin under his fingers. See the passion for life that danced in her eyes. She was there, right there and it was killing him. It was selfish to want her this way. He still had nothing *real* to offer her. Sure the baby’s mamma drama had passed and he was finished touring but his life was still hectic. He should walk away...forget that she was here but he knew in his heart that he couldn’t do that. He wouldn’t do that.

He motioned one of his security guards over “Hey can you sit with Hai for a bit” he said to the burly security guard “I have something I have to do.”

“Sure Marsh” the beefy guy smiled.

“Thanks man” Marshall said. Hai loved Marcus. He was the biggest, burliest, meanest looking son of a bitch you’d ever run into but he was a softie where Hailie was concerned.

“Hai, I’ll be right back” Marshall leaned down to whisper in his baby girl’s ear

“Aight daddy” she smiled up at him.

He placed a kiss on top of her cute little head and took off. He hunted down the head of stadium security and got clearance to head backstage.

He was entering the backstage area when he ran into the queen bitch herself “Awww I see I have a closet fan” Christina smiled.

“Bite me” he said flipping her off “Hai likes you but personally I don’t see the fascination.”

“Don’t play coy” she cooed sexily “you know you want me.”

“In your dreams” he sneered walking around her. He looked back at the sexy little pout that crossed her gorgeous face and laughed. She really was a beautiful woman but her attitude got in the way....BIG TIME. Christina was forgotten as he searched out Jenny’s dressing room. He stopped a couple roadies backstage who pointed him in the right direction. He smiled when he finally found it. He knocked gently. He knew she was still on stage but he didn’t want to go in, in case she had someone waiting for her. That thought made him frown. He sincerely hoped she didn’t have anyone waiting for her. He stood back and his heart tripped when he heard someone rusting around on the other side of the door. He turned to go. He couldn’t take it if another man opened the door. That would push him over the edge. He got a few feet when he heard the door open...

“Marshall” he heard his name whispered and his heart returned to normal.

“Tine” he said smiling as he turned around to face her.

“Oh God” she smiled reaching for him and pulling him in for a big hug “how the hell are you?”

“I’m fine sweetheart” he smiled hugging her tighter “how are you?”

“I’m great” she laughed releasing him. She backed up to look at him. “You look a bit shocked” she smiled knowingly.

“Yeah well..” he trailed off

“She misses you” Tine said gently.

“I miss her” he said honestly “but I’m not sure if seeing her is the wisest thing to do?”

“I think it is” Tine smiled “there are things the two of you need to say to each other.”

“I know Tine” he said releasing an exaggerated breath “but I don’t want to hurt again.”

“Then don’t” Tine said moving around him “don’t”

He watched her walk away. She was leaving so that they could talk. He was happy that Jenny had her. She was a remarkable friend. He hesitantly entered Jenny’s dressing room and sat down on the couch to wait...

Part 8

Jenny was flying high as she floated off stage and headed for her dressing room. It had been such an intense feeling. A natural sort of high that she never wanted to come down from. Nothing could make this night more intense, more pleasurable, more special. She smiled like a kid in a candy store as the feeling of bliss spread through her. She had never felt anything like the tingle that ran through her when the lights shone down on her and the fans sang the lyrics to her songs. ‘They actually know the words to my songs' she giggled as she turned the corner to her dressing room. All the butterflies she’d been feeling earlier were gone. She felt like she could conquer anything at that moment. She pushed open the door to her dressing room, stepping inside and closing the door.

"Tine" she laughed and froze when she caught sight of Marshall sitting on the couch. She was at a loss for words so instead she stood there speechless. He was too glorious for words. All the feelings crashed back but as he sat there staring at her through those magnificent baby blues the feelings, they didn't hurt. She'd been scared to face him. Afraid of the pain but looking at him now she couldn't ever imagine wanting to see someone more. Could this night get anymore spectacular??

"Jenny" he whispered coming to his feet. He stood there rooted in place. Not sure what to do or say. She was just as he remembered her. Seeing her on stage hadn't done her justice. She was so much more enchanting up close.

She watched him standing there struggling for words and her heart expanded. She shot across the dressing room and smacked into him. His arms came up to wrap around her in an intimate gesture and that spark that she hadn't felt since that magical night she’d lain sated in his arms came to life again. She couldn't stop herself. She looked up at him and pulled his face to hers taking possession of his lips. He moaned and she felt him harden against her. The kiss grew more hungry. More powerful as hands started to caress flesh. It was wildly erotic, the sizzle that floated through the air wrapping around them like a blanket.

He wanted her more than he wanted to breathe at that moment but he couldn't take her, not now, they needed to talk "Jenny" he said pulling back from her "we..."

She put a finger to his lips to stop the words from tumbling out "shhhh" she whispered.

"But we need to talk" he whispered losing himself in her eyes.

"No" she whispered "don't talk Marshall, just feel" she kissed him again pushing her tongue inside his mouth to sensually tangle with his "tonight, I just wanna feel"

He wanted to argue with her. He absolutely should argue with her. They *really* needed to talk but his mind went blank when he felt her fragile hand wrap around his hardened desire.

"Fuck baby" he panted as they broke the kiss and he trailed his tongue down the side of her neck.

He reached around her grasping her ass he lifted her up in his arms. She wrapped her legs tightly around his waist. He backed up and turned around to gently lay her on the couch. He dropped to his knees in front of her and captured her lips again. Her lips were drugging. The taste was so sweet. She purred against his tongue and his body involuntarily shivered. She pushed him back and stood up pulling him with her, reversing their positions she shoved him down on the couch dropping to her knees in the same exact position he had been in moments ago. She reached for his pants dragging them down over his hips exposing his swollen desire. She grasped it in her delicate hands gently caressing. He moaned at the sensation of her tiny hands wrapped around his dick.

“Jenny” he groaned as she bent her head and took him into her mouth agonizingly slow. Running her tongue up and down his manhood in slow, wide strokes. She pulled back and placed her hand around the shaft bending back down to take the tip of his hardened length into her mouth. He arched his back as the pressure began to build. Shoving himself deeper into her mouth. “Oh Fuck baby” he panted as he grasped the couch white knuckled. “Gonna cum, Oh God Jenny, wanna be inside you, let me inside you.”

She released her hold on his dick and he dragged her up his body flipping her over and pressing her back into the couch. He reached underneath her skirt and slipped her panties down her shapely legs. He settled between her thighs looking down into her beautiful eyes he could see his life reflected in them. If only he’d let himself believe in the magic that radiated between them. She grasped his ass firmly, pulling him into her body. He went rigid as he felt her tight heat wrap around him. She was heavenly. He watched the pleasure cloud her eyes as he began to thrust. He was losing all sanity. All sense of reason as he steeped himself in her. His skin was on fire. He felt lost. The need for release was a constant ache. Dull and sweet. He had never felt this connected, this joined to a woman. She intimidated him. He thrust again deeper. He couldn’t get deep enough. He needed to go deeper. He wanted to become one with her. Meld into her.

She clawed at him as her need wracked through her body. It had been so long since she’d felt this...this...there were no words to express the feelings zinging through her body. Taking control of her heart. Seizing her mind. *Him* only *he* could do this to her. Make her feel this. He pushed into her deeper and colors exploded before her blinding her vision.

Her body bucked and tightened around him as her orgasm ripped through her. He could feel her body convulsing around him. See the her orgasm in the hazy sheen of her eyes. It was like entering another state. He felt disjointed. Unreal. It was as if he’d left his body. He was on the precipice of madness. He went rigid as he exploded inside of her. The orgasm was so powerful he couldn’t stop the tremors that assaulted his body. He looked down at her through the mist clouding his vision and his resolve shattered. She was so beautiful, so right. He didn’t care how selfish it was. He needed her. “I love you” he whispered and the words floated like a feather, soft and gentle through the air...

Part 9

Those three *very*powerful* words floated through the air tickling the senses. Had he really just said them Jenny wondered through the haze of lust that clouded her mind. Had he actually said them or had it been a trick of the mind? She was afraid to ask. Afraid to speak. Afraid to break the spell that had been cast. She laid there underneath him hoping against hope that he would say them again or say something, anything. The silence was deafening.

Marshall's head laid buried in the crook of her neck, his breathing ragged, his heart practically galloping out of his chest. He'd said the words, he knew he had and as cruel as it sounded as he laid here buried deep inside of her he wished to God he could take them back. Not because he hadn't meant them, he had. He would be a fool to deny to himself what his heart knew so clearly but he wasn't sure he was capable of giving her the love that she deserved to be given. He could feel it, sure, that part was easy but to actually give it? He lifted his head from the crook of her neck and leaned back to look at her. He peered into her eyes deeply searching....for what, he wasn't sure. Acceptance, knowledge, forgiveness, understanding?

~ I look at you, your beautiful smile, your graceful soul and your magical eyes
~ Is it a trick of light? Can you truly see me, through my disguise?
~ I've hardened my heart but somehow you’ve made me stronger
~ I fought the urge to tell you but I couldn't hold back any longer
~ I'm not a man who feels these things, I can't relinquish my heart
~ I won't give anyone the opportunity again to brutally tear it apart

She was looking at him but her eyes were unreadable. Had she heard the words he'd spoken so clearly?

He leaned his forehead against hers gently "I'm sorry" he whispered "I can't do this." He was a coward, he was weak he knew that but it didn't stop him from running. He pulled out of her and got to his feet "I'm so sorry" he whispered again pulling up his pants. He took one last look at her and ran, again.

~ I'm running again, will I ever stop, will I fight this fear I have of trust
~ Will I ever be able take to that step and bask in the glory of her love
~ I want her so bad, her love, her trust, it's the only thing I ever think of
~ But I'm weak, not strong, imprisoned by fear, a coward to the fullest degree
~ I have tried to fight it countless times but she is all that I see
~ In my waking hours, in my dreams at night, she's always there with me

Would he ever stop running? Would he ever wake up and accept that all she offered was love? True love. The kind you build lives around. Would he ever realize that she didn't want to hurt him. She didn't want to use him and discard him like so many before her. He didn't know? He couldn't wrap his mind around the answers to the questions his heart sought so instead he kept running.

~*~

Jenny watched him run. Sure it stung a little but in the space of a few seconds she had learned a lot about Marshall Mathers. He was scared. She put herself back together and stood up on steady feet. It wasn't that he didn't love her, he was just *afraid* to love her. She wondered if he realized that when he’d apologized he’d been crying? She wondered if he realized that his eyes betrayed him, that they gave him away?

"Jenny" Tine said bursting through the door "what happened? I saw Marshall running out of here and..." she trailed off looking at her friend "you ok?"

"Yeah" Jenny smiled "for the first time in a long time, I'm ok"

"What happened?" Tine asked curiously "why was he running out of here like his pants were on fire."

"Because he loves me" Jenny said smiling

"I'm sorry I don't mean to sound thick" Tine said baffled "but if he loves you, why was he running?"

"Because he's scared" Jenny whispered.

"Scared?" Tine asked.

"He's scared to love me" Jenny said confidently "so he ran instead."

"Ahhhhh" Tine said finally catching up "so what are you gonna do about it."

“I’m gonna go get him” Jenny said smiling “and make sure he never runs again.”

Tine watched Jenny leave ‘That’s it baby, you go get him’ she thought with a smile.

~*~

Marshall was a mess as he motioned for Marcus “Can you tell Hai that I had an emergency” Marshall said quietly “I’ll see her at home.”

“Sure” Marcus said taking in Marshall’s rigid stance “you aight?”

“Yeah, I am fine” Marshall said sighing “thanks”

“Anytime” Marcus smiled. He watched Marshall leave and wondered what exactly had put that fear he saw dancing in Marshall’s eyes.

Marshall made it out to his car and hopped in. He peeled out and hit the gas. He had to get away from here. He drove home like the devil was hot on his trail. He pulled into the driveway and wasted no time getting into the house. He needed to think. She’d gotten too close. He hit the stairs two at a time and crashed through the door of his bedroom flopping down on the bed. He was fighting the urge to go back . The drive had given him too much time to think. Time to reflect on how stupid he was handling this situation. He loved her and he figured that it was a safe bet that she loved him so what was he so afraid of? He laid there contemplating the stupid moves and dumb choices he’d made since the moment he met her...

~*~

Jenny was *flaring* mad...flaring was actually a nice word for what she was at that particular moment. It had taken forever to find out where the hell he lived and longer than that to get past the massive security that surrounded his residence. He was guarded heavier than the President for fuck’s sake so needless to say she was in a sour mood when she stormed up his driveway and started pounding furiously on the door..

“Mathers you spineless bastard, open this fucking door RIGHT NOW” she screamed. Her fists were becoming raw from the intense pounding she was giving the innocent piece of wood that separated her from the man that she was ready to draw and quarter.

~*~

Marshall’s head popped up when he heard the pounding on the door “Who the fuck?” he mumbled as he shot out of his room and bounded down the stairs yanking the door open...

He stopped short at the sight of her standing there in all her *furious* glory “Jenny wha...”

“Shut the fuck up” she snapped cutting him off “you’ve run this show for far too long, now it’s my turn”

“B-but...” he tried to get out.

“I said shut the FUCK up” she yelled pushing past him into the foyer.

He closed the door behind him and turned to face her “Loo...”

She held up a hand and he smartly closed his mouth “You have NO idea what I went through to find you tonight” she exploded “but I did it dammit...now you are going to sit down, shut the fuck up and listen to what I have to say because I’ll be damned if I’m gonna let you run from me again!” with that said she turned on her heel and stormed across the foyer to what she *prayed* was the living room.

She flipped a glance over her shoulder and smiled to herself because she’d managed to leave the mighty EMINEM completely speechless...

Part 10

Jenny walked straight into a linen closet on her first try but she didn’t let that deter her. She just backed out gave an exaggerated huff, added in a puff for good measure and turned around to glare at Marshall again before trudging on. Thankfully she found what appeared to be the family room on her second try. She stormed in and gave a small sigh of relief before poking her head out and glaring at him again “What the fuck? Are you coming or what?” she bit out before dipping her head back in and disappearing from his line of vision.

Marshall stood staring at the empty entryway to the family room. He was more or less rooted in place. That tornado that just breezed through here was certainly not the Jenny that he knew. He was just a *little*bit* afraid of this *new* Jenny. He was standing there trying to convince himself that it was *safe* to go in there with her when his thoughts were brutally interrupted...

“What the fuck are you waiting for?” Jenny yelled again.

Marshall looked up at her and couldn’t stop the smile that slowly crossed his face. She was so damn sexy standing there with her hands placed smartly on her hips, her foot tapping away and fire in her eyes.

“Something funny?” she bit out. The tapping foot increasing his rhythmic movement.

“What?” he asked looking at her. That mean edge to her voice was, strange as it sounded, seriously turning him on “oh, no..nothing funny” he said trying to feign innocence.

“You are seriously trying my patience” she yelled “GET IN HERE, NOW”

Marshall took a deep breath and ever so slowly walked toward her. When he got close she turned on her heel and stormed into the family room. All that storming around she was doing was beginning to excite him. She was fucking sexy as hell when she was angry. He turned the corner and entered the family room cautiously. She was sitting on the love seat with her legs crossed furiously shaking her leg to some unforseen rhythm that only she heard.

“Look Jenny...” Marshall started.

“Shut up” she bit out standing up “don’t say a fucking word until I’m finished” she looked over at him. Her eyes shooting sparks at him from across the room “it’s funny you know” she started again in a much calmer tone “if you think about it, we really don’t even know each other. We’ve only physically met twice and both times we’ve somehow managed to end up fucking each other, both mentally and physically. I don’t know what this crazy thing is that’s happening between us but it *is* something dammit and I am sick and tired of watching you run away from me like a scared child.”

“Jenny, I never meant...”

“Don’t” she said seriously “don’t say all that cliched bullshit Marshall...you owe me more than that.”

“What do you want me to say Jenny?” he asked studying her.

“How about the truth Marshall” she said “just the truth”

“I feel things for you” he answered honestly “but it’s not fair to drag you into my fucked up life. You’re too innocent for that baby.”

“Don’t do that Marshall” she said catching his eyes and holding them “don’t use me to hide your own cowardice.”

“Cowardice?” he questioned.

“Yes, cowardice” she answered “you’re not afraid to drag me into your life dammit that’s just an excuse. You *ARE* afraid of your feelings. Why can’t you be man enough to admit that?”

“Maybe you’re right” he said sighing “it’s just that it’s too soon Jenny. I have serious trust issues baby and this crazy thing that overtakes me whenever I see you is just too much for me to deal with.”

“I understand that, to some degree” she said smiling for the first time since she’d walked into his home “but you can’t run from me forever, Marshall.”

“I know” he sighed moving a step closer to her “it’s just...I ...I’ve been hurt so many times and...”

“I can’t promise that we won’t hurt each other Marshall, I can’t” she said honestly “but we will never know what this thing between us truly is if we keep running away from it.”

“I think I love you” he said looking up at her “if this thing I feel for you isn’t love then God I have no idea what that word means”

His words being laid out for her so openly and honestly made her heart wrench “God Marshall...I love you too and I don’t just think it baby, I know it.”

“You do?” he asked. All his raw insecurity evident in those two simple words.

“I do” she smiled walking towards him. She opened her arms in invitation. An invitation of hope, an invitation of trust, an invitation of love...he stopped in front of her, debating. Was he ready to hand over his trust to this woman? Ready to open his heart to the hurt she could inflict if she chose too? He looked down at her, into those openly beautiful eyes of hers and he saw no other choice. He stepped into her arms. She brought her arms around him running her hands gently up and down his back “let’s explore this thing together” she whispered against his chest.

“Together” he whispered back grasping her and lifting her up into his arms.

She wrapped her arms around his neck and her legs around his waist. He walked out of the family room and headed for the stairs “We gonna fuck each other again” she giggled when he started up the stairs.

“Only physically this time” he whispered capturing her lips with his own. His tongue slid smoothly into her mouth tangling with hers.

He got to the top of the stairs and down the hall to his room kicking the door open with his foot crossing the thresh hold of his bedroom with her in his arms. She reached an arm out snagging the door and pushed it closed. He carried her across the room and placed her on her feet in front of the bed...

“I want to see you” he whispered “all of you.”

Jenny nodded her head slowly...moving her hands to gently push her skirt and panties over her hips, slowly sliding them down her legs. She reached for the bottom of her shirt and pulled it up over her head dropping it to the floor. She brought her hands up to the small clasp at the front of her bra and released it sliding the bra off her shoulders and dropping it to the floor with the rest of her clothes. “Your turn” she whispered.

Marshall’s breath caught in his throat. She was so fucking beautiful. Dips and curves in all the right places. Her rosy nipples pert and alive for him. He wanted to devour her. She cleared her throat to divert his attention. ‘Oh yes, she wants me naked’ he thought smiling. He pushed his pants and boxers down quickly, no slowness on his part, kicking them away as he reached for his shirt and yanked it roughly over his head. He stood in front of her magnificently naked.

‘OH MY LORD’ Jenny thought taking him in, all of him. She had never really gotten the chance to see him like this, really see him. He was fucking glorious, magnificent, spectacular, superb. From his strong, supple arms covered in ink to his jutting desire to his....shoes. She laughed looking down at his shoe clad feet. She looked down at her own feet and giggled “I think we forgot something”

“I always wanted to fuck a chick in spike heels” he winked at her.

“And those Nikes...OH GOD” she moaned.

“Smart ass” he whispered kicking off his shoes and reaching for her.

She started to kick off her shoes but he stopped her “Leave them” he winked.

“As you wish your highness” she said mocking a bow.

He pulled her into his arms and lifted her up laying her gently on the bed. He slithered slowly up her body eliciting lusty moans from her sexy little mouth. She spread her thighs for him and he settled comfortably between them. He gently pressed the head of his cock against her wet entrance slowly sliding the tip in. She wrapped her legs around his ass and pushed him forward fully into her with her legs. He shuttered looking down at her.

“No more running” she moaned loudly her body adjusting to the feeling of having his cock buried deep inside her “ever”

“Ever” he moaned backing up to slide almost completely out of her before plunging in again “NEVER, EVER”

He moved in and out of her torturously slow. Over and over again. Until they both plunged over that fine line between mere pleasure and complete ecstacy.

Jenny was sitting alone at the small table in the kitchen reading the paper. She was wrapped snuggly tight in one of Marshall’s bathrobe’s, her feet were bare, her hair was a complete mess and she was void of any make-up. She’d woken up hungry and Marshall had looked so angelic, peacefully sleeping beside her. She hadn’t had the heart to wake him so she quietly gathered herself up in his robe and crept down to the kitchen. She had gotten lost a few times but amazingly she had managed to find the damn kitchen in this massive structure he called his home. The pickings were slim so she’d settled on a bowl of Lucky Charms which in the end had actually been quite tasty. After her cereal she’d called Tine and gave her an abbreviated explanation of what had transpired and said that she’d see her later. So now she sat here alone thumbing through the paper. She had just finished skimming through the entertainment section when a blonde headed beauty came whirling into the kitchen and stopped short...

“Who are you?” Hailie asked innocently studying the woman wrapped up in her daddy’s robe “aren’t you that singer?”

‘Oh God’ Jenny’s mind whirled as the two of them took each other in ‘What am I supposed to say’ her mind scrambled for an answer.

“Jenny...” Marshall said stepping into the kitchen and froze. His daughter and his...his...girlfriend? Stood staring at each other “Hai” he whispered.

Hailie turned toward her father “Morning daddy” she smiled.

“Marshall...I’m sorry...I didn’t think...I didn’t mean...I ...” she trailed off.

“It’s ok baby” he said looking over at her. He turned his gaze back towards his daughter “Hai, this Jenny, my girlfriend” he looked over at Jenny “Jenny this is Hailie, my daughter.”

“Hi Jenny” Hailie spoke first turning back toward Jenny with an intense stare.

“Hi Hailie” Jenny said around the lump in her throat and stood up. She was so beautiful. His child...a miniature carbon copy of both him and her mother.

The three of them stood there silently studying each other.

“You wanna see my room Jenny?” Hailie asked breaking the silence.

“Yeah” Jenny sighed. Silently thanking this sweet child for innocent acceptance.

Hailie reached out her hand and Jenny grasped it “Come on” Hailie smiled and together they headed up the stairs.

Marshall watched the two of them go and he smiled. His daughter really was something else...

Part 11

Getting to know someone, really know someone is always a case of trial and error...you never actually know exactly what about that person is going to drive you absolutely crazy to the point where you want to rip your hair out and run from the room screaming in agony...well just imagine for a second here trying to really get to know someone that you already know without a doubt you are madly, passionately, insanely and irrevocably in love with. It’s a huge learning process that requires a whole hell of a lot of patience....Marshall and Jenny were stuck smack in the middle of that process and if didn’t kill them first by God they were going to get through it...

“Do you have to do that?” Jenny asked turning an evil eye towards Marshall’s casually laid back form.

“What?” he asked feigning innocence. He knew damn well what she was talking about but he couldn’t resist fucking with her.

“THAT” she said raising her voice for emphasis and pointing wildly at the nasty little condensation ring his Mountain Dew was currently leaving on the coffee table.

“Oh this?” he teased moving his Mountain Dew around purposely spreading the condensation around on the top of the table.

Jenny seethed “Dammit Marshall...you know I hate that shit so why....”

She stopped in midstream as the bundle of energy known to the world as Hailie Mathers came whirling through the room.

“Good morning Hai” he said turning to smirk at Jenny.

“Morning” Hailie replied merrily before launching herself into Jenny’s lap.

Jenny’s soda ring lecture was wiped clean. How could she worry about stupid shit like that when she had something so precious cuddled up in her lap. Jenny protectively brought her arms up to wrap smoothly around Hailie. They had gotten so close since her and Marshall had decided to explore this ‘thing’ between them, “So Hai, what are we gonna do today?”

“I dunno” Hailie shrugged snuggling in closer to Jenny.

“Well it’s Saturday baby...we can do anything you...”

Jenny’s statement was seriously overshadowed when Hailie blurted out “When are you gonna move in with me and daddy?”

It was an innocent question asked by an inquisitive child and it shook Jenny to the core. She numbly stumbled around for an answer “well...ummm...I...we...” She looked desperately toward Marshall for help with this one but he just shrugged. She was going to kill him later, fucking mutilate the son of a bitch for leaving her flailing in the wind like this, “look Hai...your daddy and I..we just...we’ve never discussed...”

“Daddy, do you love Jenny?” Hailie asked turning her attention to her father.

Marshall squirmed slightly and Jenny tossed back that arrogant smirk that he always gave when he thought he was in *control* of the situation ‘A HA...you don’t like it, do you Marshall? Being put on the spot like that...GO HAILIE’ she mentally cheered but his casually spoken response sent her heart rate spiraling head on into dangerous territory..

“Yeah Hai, I do”

‘Oh My God’ Jenny’s world severely tilted on it’s axis.. ‘He loves me...’ She was sitting there with her insides the consistency of jelly and her mind playing a game of tug a war..bliss was overtaking shock at the moment but shock was creeping up fast. He’d never admitted that he loved her, really admitted it. Sure there was that night he’d said it after they’d had some very intense sex backstage but he’d never actually acknowledged that the words had fluttered past his lips so she had just chalked it up to the intensity of the moment. Other than that he had thrown out a few ‘I think I love you’s’ but he’d never came out and truly admitted it. She felt the first tear creep slowly down and idly swiped her hand across her face to remove the wetness from her cheek.

He was watching her intensely “Jenny...”

She looked up at him and her heart crept into her throat. He was a dangerous man. She wondered if he realized that he had the power to break her. She opened her mouth to speak but the words were lodged in her throat...

“I love you..” he whispered catching her misty eyes and holding them.

Hailie sat between them quietly watching the scene that was playing out in front of her. She wanted her daddy to be happy and she knew that Jenny made him happy so why shouldn’t they live together? She was just a child but she was wise enough to know that they loved each other, they just needed a little push...

“I love you too” Jenny whispered. She was completely lost in his eyes. The whole world could have been tumbling down around her and she wouldn’t have noticed, the only thing she could see was him...

“So are you gonna move in with us?” Hailie prompted.

“I...”

“Well,” he asked studying her “are you?”

“Is that what you want?”

“Yes...” he whispered.

Her heart thumped wildly. It was an utter miracle that it was still solidly in place. Her voice had fled. She didn’t think she could speak if her life depended on it so she nodded her head never breaking eye contact.

“Does that mean you’ll live with us now?” Hailie asked hopefully.

Jenny nodded her head again, giving up all pretenses she let the tears fall...

Jenny went through the rest of the day on autopilot. Her heart was so full it was on the verge of bursting. They’d spent some time together, just the three of them doing nothing but hanging out together like a family. It felt so good to just be with them, God it had felt so right, she finally felt like she belonged...

~*~

Hailie was in bed for the night and Marshall was down in his studio messing around with some beats so she grabbed her lyric book and a pen and curled up on the couch...

When you crashed into my life it tore my world apart
You pleased my body, teased my mind and stole my heart
I knew in my soul that I would never be the same woman with in
I’d lost a part of me that I’d never get back until I held you again
I wanted to hate you..God baby, I desperately tried
All those cold, lonely nights I spent trying to convince myself that you lied
But your kisses scorched me, your hands singed my skin
Your flesh pressed against mine was far more potent than the sweetest of sins

CHORUS

Like the music I covet your aura wraps around me
Pulling me into madness, it completely astounds me
I want to fight it, I’ve already lost too much of myself
But I can’t fight what I feel for you, it has a life of itself

God, so much time passed and my stubborn soul just wouldn’t heal
How the hell was I ever going to convince myself that what I felt for you wasn’t real
I tried to keep my distance, I knew in my heart that I could never face you
But you walked back into my life and those feelings all crashed back, anew
It was like a cruel twist of fate, I knew I was never going to be able to escape you
You sated yourself in my body again, I didn’t try and stop it, I gave you myself freely
But you ran again and it hurt me so bad that you wouldn’t allow yourself to love me
I realized something that night though, something I hadn’t seen before
You weren’t running from me baby, you were running from something so much more...

CHORUS

Like the music I covet your aura wraps around me
Pulling me into madness, it completely astounds me
I want to fight it, I’ve already lost too much of myself
But I can’t fight what I feel for you, it has a life of itself

I couldn’t let you slip away from me again, not this time
I had too much at stake, it was my heart that was on the line
So I ran after you baby, I threw caution to the wind
I wasn’t going to let you walk out of my life, never again
We somehow made it past that crazy curve in the road
And discovered a love so deep, one that neither of us had ever known
Oh God baby, today you made me a part of something that I’ve never really had
Something I’ve wanted all my life, you have no idea I’ve craved it so bad
You told me that you wanted me, that you needed me, that you loved me
Baby today you gave me what I’ve needed all my life...a family

CHORUS

Like the music I covet your aura wraps around me
Pulling me into madness, it completely astounds me
I want to fight it, I’ve already lost too much of myself
But I can’t fight what I feel for you, it has a life of itself

Part 12

Jenny had sat there that night rereading the lyrics she’d scribbled down on paper, she’d wanted to jump up and go show Marshall but she’d suddenly got an idea so she’d tucked the lyrics away and gotten to work. It had taken her relentless planning and a good amount of sneakiness but she finally managed to put her plan into action and get it done. The song was recorded and wrapped up nice and neat, she’d only recorded one copy and at this very moment it was on it’s way to Shady Records, Attention: Marshall Mathers...

~*~

Marshall was tired, he stretched lazily and leaned his head back against the big leather chair in his office. He hated being here, in this office. He loved all that it represented for him but he just felt so out of place behind the big, intimidating mahogany desk. He was more suited to the studio, that was where he really felt at home. He sat back up leaning forward and began tapping his nails distractedly across the smooth surface of his desk, ‘I gotta get the fuck outta here’ he mumbled to the empty office, ‘I need to go home’ He got up and headed for the door when his secretary came bustling in, narrowly missing getting plowed down as he stormed toward the door.

“Oh, I’m sorry Mr. Mathers” Trudy said backing up and craning her neck up to look at him. Her height always amazed him, he wasn’t the tallest person in the world but she was so damn tiny.

“It’s ok” he said cracking a smile, “whatchu got there?”

“Oh, I don’t know?” she said handing the package over to him, “it came for you a few minutes ago, it said urgent so I thought you might be expecting it.”

He shrugged, “Nah, I don’t think so but thanks.”

“Sure” she smiled genuinely, turning around to exit back through the door she’d just come through.

He walked back over and plopped back down in his chair, laying the mysterious package on the top of his desk. He furrowed his brow studying it, he flipped it over looking for where it’d come from, ‘Hmmmm...RCA?’ he said aloud, ‘Why the fuck would they be sending me a package?’ it briefly crossed his mind that Jenny was signed to RCA but he couldn’t imagine why they’d be sending him anything, ‘Oh well’ he shrugged, ‘Let’s see what’s inside this bad boy?’ He dug around in his desk for that odd knife looking contraption that Trudy had gracefully informed him was a ‘letter opener’ , he finally found the damn thing and went to work on the box. By the time he got it open he was pretty sure that whatever was in the damn box was more trouble then it was worth. He peered inside spying the single unmarked compact disk that laid cushioned by tons of those annoying little pieces of popcorn, he reached in, pulled it out and held it to the light, studying it. After a few minutes his curiosity got the best of him and he popped up, walked over to the CD player built into the wall on the other side of his office, popped the CD in, pressed play and stood back to listen...

When you crashed into my life it tore my world apart...

He didn’t get past the first line, her voice entered his veins and efficiently seized his heart, he felt like a limp noodle as he wobbled back over to his chair and slid into it. It was always like that every time he heard her, her voice was so rich and smooth, syrupy sweet like warm honey and it did more than anything ever could to wipe his mind completely clean. He hit the button to bring it back to the beginning and sat back to listen to her words...

~*~

Jenny was tired as hell, she trudged through the airport on autopilot lugging her carry on behind her like it weighed a ton.

“You ok sweetie?” Tine asked, taking the carry on from Jenny’s slack fingers, “you look so tired.”

“I am” she mumbled bringing her hands up to rub her sleepy eyes.

“Well then we need to get you home and tucked in for the night” Tine bristled, “you’re working too hard Jenny.”

“I know” she sighed, “but it’s just...shit, this means everything to me Tine, I’m finally living my dreams...”

“I know” Tine smiled, “but your dreams will have to wait a day or so until you’ve had some rest.”

“Yes, ma’am” she said mock saluting Tine.

“I sound like your momma, don’t I?” Tine laughed.

“Uh huh” she smiled, “but that’s ok, you just care about me, that’s all.”

“Uh huh” Tine winked.

They picked up their luggage and headed for the parking lot. Jenny felt weird about having drivers and security surrounding her all the time so while she still could, she usually just traveled everywhere by herself, with no one but Tine for company. After they’d finished stuffing their bags into the back of the SUV, Tine climbed into the drivers seat, Jenny took the passenger seat and they headed home...

Jenny closed her eyes and let her mind drift. ‘I wonder where Marshall is right now? I bet he’s still at Shady Records busting his ass like always!!’ a soft smile crossed her lips, he was such a ball buster when it came to work but nobody ever complained because he rolled up his sleeves and dug in just like everybody else, ‘I hope he got his surprise!! I wonder what he felt when he heard it?’ Somewhere during the conversation she was having in her mind, her body gave into the tiredness it felt and she slipped into dreams...

~*~

The track ended and Marshall sat there for a few minutes lost in thought. It’d only been a month since Jenny had moved in but it had probably been the happiest month of his life. They’d gotten to know and accept each others quirks and not just the two of them but Hailie too. Hailie had been so different this last month, she seemed comfortable, happy content, her and Jenny had developed a special bond between them, it was so sweet to watch all the girly rituals they did together. He’d always been wary about bringing another woman into his life but with Jenny it had been so natural. She’d stepped through the door and blended into his life like she was meant to be there. He got up and walked across his office, hitting eject on the CD player, the disk slid out and he snatched it up before heading out of his office.

“Trudy” he said on his way by, “if anyone asks, tell them I went home..”

Trudy watched him practically skip down the hallway, she didn’t know what had been in that strange little package but whatever it was had certainly put a spring in his step.

Marshall didn’t have much time, he knew that Jenny had gone to LA to work on some stuff, her new album was doing really well and they were mixing together some new tracks to release to the radio stations. She’d been sneaky about it too, throwing in the recording of the song he held tightly in his hand and surprising him with it, it was her turn. She’d given him so much in the short time that they’d been together] and it was time he gave something back...

~*~

“You need me to help you carry some of that in?” Tine asked watching Jenny heft a couple of suitcases out of the back of the SUV.

“Nah, you go home sweetie, get some rest” she smiled, “you’ve been up just as long as I have.”

“Yeah but I wasn’t the one working my ass off in the studio”

“No, you were just the one who had to put up with my temperamental mood swings for the last few days.”

“Oh, I know” Tine shuttered and then laughed, “it was horrid”

“Hey..”

“You were the one who brought it up” Tine laughed, “you sure you’re gonna be all right carrying that in by yourself.”

“Yep” she smiled, “now shoo..go get some rest!!”

“If you insist” Tine sighed dramatically before throwing Jenny a wink, “I’ll see you tomorrow love.”

“Definitely”

Tine bent down and scooped up her two suitcases before heading towards the guest house in the back. Jenny watched her walk away with a smile on her face. When Marshall and Hailie had asked her to move in here she’d been so torn. She’d been ecstatic but after she’d said yes, the guilt had started seeping in. Her and Tine had been roommates forever. She’d dragged Tine all the way over here from England and she couldn’t just up and leave her in a strange new city, in a strange new country on her own. She’d told Marshall how she felt about leaving Tine that night before they went to bed and he’d said that Tine should just move into the guest house, that way she’d always be close. There were so many things that she’d come to love about Marshall but one of the main things that always struck her all the way to the core of her soul was how deeply he cared, when he cared for someone, he would move heaven and earth for them.

She snapped out of her thoughts, bending down to heft her suitcases off the ground and headed for the door. She fumbled around for her keys, managed to finally find them, let herself in, sat her cases down by the door and just stood there in the hallway taking in her surroundings, ‘Ahhh, home sweet home’ she smiled leaving her cases where they sat and hitting the stairs. She walked through the door of their bedroom and stripped down to nothing but her bra and panties before climbing across the bed and burrowing under the thick comforter. The house was so quiet, she idly wondered when Marshall and Hai would be home? ‘Soon, I hope..’ she mumbled before laying her head down and closing her eyes. She slid her hand underneath the pillow like she always did and her fingers connected with something solid. She sat up pulling the object out from underneath the pillow. She looked at the tiny little velvet box that sat in the palm of her hand and her breathing became a bit labored. She reached up with her other hand and with trembling fingers opened the tiny little box, she stared down at the contents and her heartbeat went wild, her eyes flooded with tears and her breath backed up in her chest...

Part 13

Jenny figured that any minute now she’d wake up from the most intense dream she’d ever had in her entire fucking life but amazingly enough she didn’t wake up and the reality that this certainly wasn’t a dream came crashing in. The diamond, sitting in it’s velvety home in the palm of her hand didn’t diminish, it didn’t disappear from sight, on the contrary, it continued to glimmer with a life of it’s own.

“Marshall” she whimpered, her breath hitching.

“Right here” he said from the doorway of their bedroom.

Her head jerked up, her eyes collided with his and she felt the breath being forced out of her lungs. He was so fucking beautiful and real and caring and, and...hers...

“Marshall??”

“Yeah?” he asked walking toward the bed, walking toward her...

“I...you..” she stuttered, unable to wrap her mind around any one coherent thought.

“I’m not quite sure how to take that” he climbed onto the bed, pulling her to her knees so that her body was flush with his, “was that a yes or a no?”

“I...OH GOD” she said on an uneven breath, “you just..I mean...fuck...” she faltered, her whole body was trembling, she took a steadying breath and met his eyes, “you really want to marry me?” she asked, her voice coming out in shaky waves.

“Yes” he said without faltering, without stumbling, without doubt, “I do..”

“Oh God Marshall..” she dropped her head to lean against his chest.

“Jenny” he whispered, lifting her chin up until their eyes met again, “I love you and I wanna marry you but if this isn’t what you want..”

“Are you fucking crazy?” she asked. Big fat shimmering tears were streaming down her face, “you think I don’t wanna marry you? I’ve never wanted anything more in my life...”

“Yeah?”

“YEAH” she said with conviction.

He leaned into her, his lips brushing hers in a kiss so soft it sent tingles dancing through her. He broke the kiss and pulled away from her, prying the velvet box out of her tightly closed fist and slipped the shimmering ring from it’s velvet perch to lay in the palm of his hand.

“Jenny” he said grabbing her left hand in his, “I never thought that I’d want to do this again, the first time around wasn’t so great but I wanna try again, with you” he was gazing at her, his eyes were touching parts of her heart and her soul that no one had ever gotten close enough to touch before, “will you marry me? Be my wife? Spend the rest of your life with me? Love me through good times and bad? Let me love you back and give you everything I have to give?”

“Yes” she whispered.

He slowly slid the ring on her finger and as it passed her knuckle and landed in it’s permanent home, he felt all the bad memories, all the fucked up shit, all the hurt and all the pain wash away, leaving him cleansed and for the first time in a long time, he felt whole, “I love you...”

“I love you too...”

She brought her hands up to touch him and he closed his eyes while her trembling fingers explored the dips and curves of his face. Trailing over his lightly closed eyelids, across his finely chiseled cheekbones, down over his soft, slightly parted lips and landing in the trademark cleft in his chin.

“Marshall” she whispered feather light, he opened his eyes and they clashed with hers, “make love to me..”

He bent his head down, claiming her lips with his own, forcing her mouth open and dipping his tongue in to softly stroke hers. The kiss was fierce, he was pouring his heart and his soul, his love and his trust, his everything into that primal mating of lips.

“Jenny, you’re so soft” he whispered against her lips, “so sweet..”

He pushed her back into the mattress, his body hovering over hers while his fingertips skimmed the soft flesh of her inner thigh, working their way up until they came into contact with the silky material of her panties. He walked his fingers across the silk until he reached the top of her sex and then spread his fingers out covering her.

“Marshall..” she moaned, dropping her hand to cover his.

She pressed his hand firmly against her aching sex, arching up into his hand so she could get closer, she couldn’t get close enough..

He moved his hand so that he cupped her, his palm pressing the silk of her panties teasingly into her liquid center. She moaned brokenly and he curled his fingers to lightly brush against her throbbing clit..

He leaned forward, his breath fluttering against her ear, “I want you..”

She groaned, bringing her knees up to squeeze his hips tightly bringing his body closer to hers. They removed their hands and he thrust forward pressing his hardness against her.

She felt the rigid length of his cock through the barrier of their clothes pressing intimately against her and it set her body on fire.

He began to rock his hips back and forth, just a slight movement that rocked her down to the tips of her toes..

“Fuck Marshall, I want...”

Her request was swallowed up as his lips crashed into hers. His hands moved to her sides to grasp her panties and slide them down over her hips.

She wiggled out of them and pushed them away with her feet.

He slid his hands underneath her, finding the clasp of her bra, she arched up into him to give him better access and he unclasped it, pulling his hands out from under her to help her slide the bra down her arms and away from her body.

He came to his knees and stared down at her, “God, you’re so beautiful Jenny, so fucking beautiful..”

She leaned up, hooking her thumbs in the waistband of his pants and pulled them down, along with his boxers, over his hips.

They got caught up at his knees and he kicked his shoes off so that he could work them the rest of the way down and kick them off without any problems.

While he was busy with his pants, she went to work on his shirt, pushing it up his torso, her nails scarring his skin in their wake until it was up and over his head. She threw it aside and pulled his body tightly against hers.

She could feel his erection nudging her entrance, “I wanna feel you inside Marshall, need you inside..”

He pressed forward gently sliding into her slowly until he was buried completely inside her creamy, hot, liquid center..

“Jenny..” he moaned softly, her name floating out through his lips to flutter through the air.

She wrapped her legs around him, clasping her feet behind his back and pulled him a bit deeper into her body..

“You feel so good inside me Marshall” she whimpered.

She felt full, stretched completely and she loved it. She could search the whole earth and never find someone that made her feel so alive..

He pulled his hips back and thrust forward again, starting off slow and gradually picking up the pace until his passion for her took control and he lost all reason, all sanity. He madly plundered her body with his own until they both lost the fight and as one fell over that steep cliff of ecstacy, a jumble of nerves, a murmuring of sighs, a beating of hearts...

EPILOGUE

It was an unusually bright day in Detroit. The sun was shining, lighting the world with various shades of brilliant, beautiful color..

“You look so beautiful” Tine whispered, tears causing her eyes to glisten and sparkle.

“Yeah?” she asked nervously, running her hands along the skirt of her pristine gown.

“Yeah!!” Tine smiled.

“I’m so nervous” she said on a shaky smile, “What if he’s having doubts? What if he realizes that he doesn’t want this?”

“Oh Jenny” Tine smiled, “he loves you baby, he wants to spend the rest of his life with you!! You have nothing to worry about...just be happy!!”

She opened her mouth to speak when Paul stuck his head in, “It’s time....”

He held out his hand for her and she grasped it with shaky fingers.

“It’ll be perfect, trust me..” Tine whispered as she floated past her.

“You ready?” Paul asked studying her.

“Yeah..” she said on a shaky breath, “I’m ready!!”

He slowly led her outside and down the long winding path to the little spot by the lake that they’d chosen to exchange their vows. She could see Tine a bit away walking down the winding path and Hailie about ten feet in front of them, dropping yellow rose petals to the litter the ground. She looked further ahead and saw the rows of guests seated around the beautiful alter woven with bright sunflowers and sunny yellow roses, it was like a dream, a beautiful dream.

“Almost there” Paul said squeezing her hand affectionately.

She squeezed back, the nerves were playing havoc with her body and she could feel her fingers trembling slightly.

“Don’t be nervous” Paul whispered, “he loves you so much..”

“I love him too..” she smiled up at Paul, “more than you could ever imagine..”

She took a deep breath, willing the nerves away. She looked up, her eyes instantly meeting the soft, crystal blue of his and all the nerves that had seized her seemed to diminish, they floated away in the soft summer breeze. It was going to be all right, she loved him and he loved her. She lifted her head high and continued walking with pride towards her destiny...
